Bee Research Directorate

The beekeeping industry plays a pivotal role in the agricultural sector; this role is not only restricted to honey, pollen and royal jelly, but also in other products such as bee poison, queen bees' production and bee swarms. However, the fundamental importance of beekeeping lies in its role in increasing agricultural production and improving its quality. Honey bees are the main pollinator of many agricultural crops, in addition to their role in conserving the biodiversity of wild plants. As the population of pollinating wild insects decreases, such as wild bees including incisive bees, diffusers and bumblebees. Urban extension and intensive agricultural practices including use of agricultural pesticides, tillage and weeding ,which has made the prevalence of pollinated wild insects very limited and confined to the periphery of farms and in marginal unvalued areas, this makes these insects far from the agricultural crops targeted in the synthetic pollination process.

The vision implies early diagnose and management of diseases and pests affecting honey bees. In addition to the development of honeybee pastures in Jordan. Jordan suffers from the scarcity of specialized honey bee pastures, in addition to the short flowering period available. Several studies and research conducted by the Bee Research Directorate have demonstrated the possibility of developing honeybee pastures by increasing the availability of local wild field trees, as well as introducing a number of distinctive varieties and species that flower at varying periods of the year, providing ideal, successive bee-flowering pastures. In addition to the problem of desertification, urbanization and woodcutting of Jordan's pastures and forests, although already scarce. Beekeepers are known in the world, to be amateurs of nature, one of the most contributing people to
the planting of forest trees, as an important source of nectar.
